THE CROFT WALL - One of these was found tucked into a stone wall on the croft. Half-hidden, glazed with age. And I just wondered how long it had been there.
Had a relative of mine left it there after their lunch? Tucked it in whilst they dealt with a sheep or cut peats and then forgot about it?
We’ll never know. But I liked the idea that it had been waiting.
This is a very small, limited run of peat candles poured into reclaimed stoneware jars - the next chapter for these wee pots. Each jar is original, salvaged and cleaned by hand. No two are exactly alike, with their own wee markings that tells you they've lived a life before.
Scented with No 10: The Peats - Inspired by the peat fires in Achnahaird. Capturing the smoky aroma of burning peat mingled with subtle hints of cedar, precious wood and Autumnal tones.
Once the candle is finished, the jar is ready to live on again.
